A prototype for startups in preparation for raising investment

A prototype for startups in preparation for recruitment and investment

Young startups full of passion and energy to create and create their idea, find that very often these are invaluable qualities but are not an exclusive condition for success.
A good prototype is an important key for startups in preparation for recruitment.

One of the best things about the experience is understanding and analyzing past failures and deriving from them the tools required for success. Of course, even if you have an elaborate set of tools, this matter still does not guarantee success, but there is no doubt that for young startups, this set of tools is a softening for the intensive entry into the world of entrepreneurship.

I will not go into the whole set of tools in this post, I would like to talk about one very significant tool, both for the idea entrepreneur and for the human environment that surrounds the entrepreneur and the enterprise in its early stages.

The mad race of being a startup often drains you of energy and resources

the prototype

The prototype teaches us, the entrepreneurs, an important lesson before investing financial resources, perhaps the most significant in the development of an idea and its realization.

From my humble experience, I have come to know that most ventures and startups do not examine themselves enough towards this stage and accelerate the process as part of the passion and inertia into a product at too early a stage.

Only after the development process is completed, most entrepreneurs encounter Christian indigestion and are forced to perform heart surgery in real time and spend a lot of unnecessary money or alternatively cut corners to meet the launch promise.

Sometimes entrepreneurs don't have extra money to invest in order to make ends meet and minimize damages. This is a situation of frustration and immaturity that is especially typical for Israeli entrepreneurs. This is what is good about us but sometimes also what fails us.

This is exactly what the prototype was invented for. To give an experience as accurate as possible to the real product and to receive feedback, comments and necessary changes to the product. This is how Christian growth and development is guaranteed in record time (only four days) for a few thousand shekels, which mature the product to the expectations of the entrepreneur, the investors and of course, the market.

There are different species of prototypes that can be used, most of them do the job well and each has advantages over the other Jessies. I choose the right prototype for the job based on understanding the entrepreneur's needs, defining the budget, availability, speed of execution and technology required for presentation.

In conclusion

After making the prototype, the entrepreneur discovers to his surprise many elements that should be changed in order to professionalize the product to a higher level:

  • Sizes and weights - emphasizing, enlarging, changing and highlighting fonts, symbols, icons and buttons
  • Diagnosing the product on the appropriate platform (mobile phone, tablet, desktop)
  • The user experience - how intuitive is the user experience and what is missing in order to bring the experience to a maximum level.
  • User responses - it is possible at low costs to test the idea of the user experience by introducing new and fresh experimenters into the prototype from the target audience group and to examine with statistical and human tools what works and what doesn't, where if there are bottlenecks and obstacles that must be taken into account and provide them with creative solutions.
  • For seed and angel investors, the prototype will usually be enough to convey the main idea of the product and is a main and interesting part of the presentation. Instead of talking about it, you can just show it.

In conclusion, if you want to think quickly and professionally and save precious resources, I recommend a prototype as a condition for moving to the next level, especially if this is your first venture in the life of startup entrepreneurship.
